The historic Obici House Wedding in Suffolk, VA is a reminder how important the charm of your wedding venue can be. The Obici House, private mansion turned golf clubhouse and event venue, boasts exceptional views of the golf greens on two sides and beautiful Virginia waterways on the others. The size of the Obici House is perfect for a celebration with the intent to stoke the fires of old friendships, reconnect with family, and simply experience the joy of a wedding with those closest to you.
Sarah and Andrew’s Obici House wedding incorporated all of the charm of the venue with their own rustic touches and personality. The running theme encompassed rustic burlap textures, rough cut wood, wine bottle and mason jar centerpieces, and delightful little honeycomb favors. This rustic theme was carried outdoors for their wedding ceremony with the aisle adorned with shepherd’s hooks carrying mason jars filled with floral arrangements. Guests looked on as they enjoyed warm apple cider served to them as they were seated overlooking the beautiful waterway.
A beautiful fall sunset became the backdrop for this celebration and with the halo of the ending day a new one was beginning.
The sunlight escaped and the guests retreated back indoors for the celebration to continue with dinner, dancing, dancing, dancing, more dancing, and maybe even some libations and a cupcake or two. The jovial mood was carried throughout the night by the bride’s father’s band, Slackdog, and entertainment from DJ Jeremy Branch.
It seemed that as quickly as the day began it also ended. Time flies when you’re having fun, right? The guests lit up their sparklers and sent the happy couple off onto their honeymoon.
