This smitten pair held their beautiful outdoor wedding at The Chamberlin on the pristine rear lawn located within Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA. The view overlooks the mouth of the James River and the Chesapeake Bay. It certainly provided an amazing backdrop for their celebration. The afternoon ceremony was bright and sunny with a slight breeze to help cool us off in the summer sun.
I first met Kristen and James several months ago in a quiet corner of a busy coffee shop. James was fairly quiet and subdued, but he was beaming. I could see how much he adored Kristen from the start. His reserved personality was evenly paired perfectly with Kristen’s thoughtful and more outwardly emotional demeanor. They looked at each other a few times during our initial meeting and I could see the sparks fly. No words exchanged — just that bit of magic when you know two people are in love.
This customized figurine ties in the bride & groom’s love of the Redskins – which also shows up in other details of their big day.
Kristen’s gown was a beautiful piece with a wonderfully long train that perfectly accentuated her soft, gentle beauty.
Did I mention that they love the Redskins?

Look at that awesome train on her dress!
Kristen’s bouquet features one of her brother’s military awards and serves as her ‘something blue’. Super creative and very meaningful!
Kristen and James share their first dance and a little kiss.
I bet she waited all day just to do that!
I think this image sums up how awesome and enjoyable Kristen and James’ wedding was.
Apparently, it was time to go hunting for “wabbits” 🙂
