I have a confession to make: I love my wife. I have another confession to make: I love taking photos of my wife.
A few weeks ago I embarked on a day long adventure with my wife to shoot several bridal sessions at Bacon’s Castle. Two of the sessions would be of her wearing both my mother’s wedding dress from the early 1980s and her wedding dress from this past March of 2012. Both sessions are extremely important and meaningful to me. There is an inherent emotional attachment to all of the images, but I wanted to at least share a glimpse into the beatiful images that we created together. This is the first of our two part series together.
Bacon’s Castle is a gem. It is. I tell everyone I can about it. If you spend any amount of time on the property you start to feel at home. It is almost as if the moment you approach the front door you are welcomed home — cradled by hundreds of years of history and warmth. Encompassed by the generations that lived before and the energy they leave behind for us all to enjoy.
The magic of the location, the beauty of my mother’s vintage wedding gown, and the warmth of my lovely bride all came together in this first set of images. Our second session will be next on the blog 🙂
